I’ve been vegan since 2000, so I have had many years to test recipes and see what dishes both vegans and omnivores at the table liked the best.

Here are the 10 vegan main dishes that my friends and family have loved for Thanksgiving over the years…

Vegan Turkey

This vegan turkey is made from wheat gluten. It’s meaty, juicy, and delicious, and tastes so authentic that no one will feel like they are missing out by eating vegan.

Vegan Ham

My family loves this faux ham recipe and requests it for every holiday. (I usually have to make 2 of them, and the vegan kids in the family fight over the last pieces every year.)

Whole Roasted Cauliflower

A gluten-free, low-carb, plant-based main dish that is as delicious as it is beautiful!

Shepard’s Pie

Aka cottage pie. This is one of the easiest and most delicious vegan mains that you can make! It’s always a hit, and it can also be made ahead of time and easily reheated.

Vegan Lasagna

This is great because you can make it ahead of time and bake it before serving. I have never met anyone who doesn’t like this lasagna. Plus, it feeds a crowd.

Tofu Turkey

Made with seasoned tofu and filled with stuffing, then basted and baked to perfection. (Use cauliflower stuffing in the center to make it gluten-free.)

Tofu Wellington

Filled with seasoned tofu, mushrooms, and caramelized onions, wrapped and baked in puff pastry.

Pumpkin Stuffed Shells

Jumbo shells stuffed with vegan pumpkin ricotta and vegan sausage, then topped with pumpkin alfredo and baked to perfection.

Vegan Chicken Pot Pie

Made quickly and easily in a one-pot dish filled with veggies, vegan chicken, and gravy, topped with a puff pastry crust to make it super simple.
