Tempeh Bacon

Tempeh bacon is a delicious vegan bacon alternative! Packed with protein & soaked in a salty smoky marinade for a true bacon flavor!  You can eat it for breakfast or in a vegan BLT or veggie burger!

Mix soy sauce, liquid smoke, nutritional yeast, oil & maple syrup in a flat-bottomed container & stir with a fork.

Slice tempeh into ¼ inch thick slices & lay in the marinade. Flip after a few minutes to coat both sides. Let them sit for at least 5 minutes to soak up the flavor.

Fry the marinated tempeh over medium heat in oil for about 3-4 minutes on each side until they darken & crisp up slightly.

Serve as you would bacon.

Try it in a vegan BLT sandwich!
