Why make this recipe
If you are looking for an easy homemade candy, this vegan white chocolate bark is it. Simply melt some white chocolate chips, add in fruit, nuts, candy, or sprinkles, and you have a sweet treat for any occasion. Top with crushed candy canes for homemade vegan peppermint bark, too!
Most recipes I have seen for vegan white chocolate bark use cacao butter, sugar, and oil, but I prefer to use vegan white chocolate chips, since they are easier to find and melt more easily.
Ingredients and substitutions
- Vegan White Chocolate Chips: Enjoy Life brand makes white chocolate chips that are readily available in large grocery stores. I also like the lllllll brand white chocolate chips that I order from Amazon.
- Add-ins: dried fruit like raisins, craisins, or berries; freeze-dried fruit and berries; chopped nuts like almonds, pistachios, or walnuts; crushed candy canes; vegan sprinkles; and/or dark chocolate.

Helpful tools
- Parchment Paper – To pour your melted chocolate onto, so it doesn’t stick to the tray.
- Microwave Safe Bowl – or a double boiler to melt your chocolate chips.

Step 1 – Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper and have your chosen add-ins chopped and ready to sprinkle on top.
Step 2 – Pour a full bag of vegan white chocolate chips into a microwave-safe glass bowl.
Step 3 – Microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring between each one until the chocolate chips are melted. (This usually takes 4 intervals of 20 seconds or about a minute and 20 seconds total.)

Step 4 – Pour the melted chocolate onto the parchment paper and smooth it out with a spatula until it’s about 1 cm thick.
Step 5 – Sprinkle the melted white chocolate with dried fruit, chopped nuts, candy, and or sprinkles.

Step 6 – Allow to cool completely until the bark hardens, then break it into smaller pieces.
Pro Tips
- For extra vanilla flavor, add 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract after melting the chocolate chips.
- If you don’t have a microwave, you can also melt the white chocolate chips in a double boiler. Do not melt them directly in a pan on the stovetop.
- You can also mix half dark chocolate and half white chocolate, either by layering them or by swirling them together. (Melt the dark chocolate chips the same way as the white chocolate chips.)
Storage
Vegan white chocolate bark will keep well on the countertop for up to a week. You can also freeze it in an airtight container.
Place in small plastic baggies for gifts or storage.
